Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) is implementing the Jenga Kesho yenye Bora (Building a Better Tomorrow) youth engagement program in various crops in the country. Under the BBT- Avocado program, SUA and the Tanzania Cereals and Mixed Crops Regulatory Authority (COPRA) have prepared a program to employ fifty (50) agricultural graduates for a period of twelve (12) months to provide extension services for a special program to develop the avocado crop in the country. The program will be implemented in the 2025/2026 agricultural season in preparation for the production of raw avocados. This program will be implemented in Rugwe District, Mbeya Region.
In addition, in the implementation of this special program of extension services through young graduates in agricultural fields (BBT Agricultural Extension Entrepreneurship Scheme – BBT AEES),
it requires fifty (50) graduates with appropriate qualifications in agricultural fields to provide extension services in the avocado crop on a temporary employment basis as follows:
