1. JOB TITLE: Fleet Controller (Cane Supply) – 8 Positions

Job Purpose
We are looking for Fleet Controller (Cane Supply) to Implement the Country’s cane supply strategy to ensure long term continuity of optimum cane production by all Growers, Implement and drive relevant Kilombero Agriculture Ways and related standards in cane supply, Monitor and control cane quality and the delays between harvesting and crushing and Maintain positive relationships with Growers by keeping them updated / informed of Mill status.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete cane haulage vehicle conformance checklist prior to vehicle activation for cane
• delivery.
• Liaise with grower and/or haulier supervisors to gather information on available and collectible cane stocks for input into cane logistics system and loader availability by field.
• Capture and perform hourly checks on available and collectible cane stocks into the cane logistics system for all harvesting sites.
• Interact with cane haulage drivers on taring out and issuing scheduling tickets.
• Monitor all cane haulage vehicle statuses to detect supply risks at any given point in time.
• Gather information on field conditions and update information on the system and report to relevant stakeholders.
• Gather information on vehicle breakdowns and estimated time of arrival via mobile/telephone.
• Liaise with hauliers on vehicle breakdowns within mill vicinity for immediate action.
• Monitor and ensure that vehicle statuses in cane logistics system represent the true situation on the ground.
• Liaise with mill personnel on supply risks and advise on sustainable crush rates given the status of supply as dictated by weather, field and road conditions as well as other emerging road transport challenges.
• Report network and polycomp board connectivity issues as well as cane logistics system downtime immediately to IT standby and cane logistics system support team for troubleshooting.
• Promote and adhere to Kilombero’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without
• limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Minimum Requirements:

• A ‘Level certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in sugarcane operations preferably harvesting and haulage.
• Knowledge of transport logistics will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy with good understanding of fleet management systems.

2. JOB TITLE: Irrigation Team Lead – 2 Position

Job Purpose
The Irrigation Team Lead is responsible for controlling and coordinating the quality of irrigation operations and assists management in the development of irrigation plans to ensure long-term growth development and sustainability as well as Implement the “ABF Way of sugar cane production” to ensure Illovo is the best-in-class sugar producer in the Country.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise irrigation activities, through the inspection of irrigation lines/furrows on each field given to each individual
• Controls work performance by recording daily attendance, irrigation cycles, irrigation scheduling and pressure monitoring
• Ensure that work standards are adhered to by allocating task to his/her gang and recording man-days used per activity
• Responsible for safeguarding the crop by reporting any unusual occurrences i.e. fire, floods, smut, weeds, pests in the field, theft etc.
• Manage team performance and conduct
• Ensure irrigation lines have been placed in the correct locations by physical inspection of all irrigation lines after every shift
• Ensure complete number of irrigation equipment to comply with field geographical position by taking field inventory and Ensure irrigation lines are shifted as per set standards
• Ensure good system arrangement to stabilize overlap uniformity by ensuring correct spacing of irrigation lines and use of correct irrigation equipment e.g. sprinkler and nozzles etc.
• Conduct on the job training and instruction on various farm activities
• Responsible for irrigation equipment inventory and submits inventory reports to the farm supervisor
• Promote and adhere to Kilombero’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in Agriculture or related
• 2 – 3 years in Sugarcane agriculture
• Experience with leading teams and resource allocation
• Good leadership skills
• Good communication skills

3. JOB TITLE: Quality and Food Grade Officer – 1 Position

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for controls and checks of sugar quality as well as documentation relating to the Quality and Food Safety Management System.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure checks on quality and the food safety sugar is done according by the relevant personnel at production team.
• Ensure checks on the cleaning and strength of the magnets
• Ensure checks on the batch codes printing quality on the bags is done according to KSCL QMS requirements
• Ensure checks on the sealing and sewing is done accordingly.
• Ensure deep cleaning at critical areas in the factory and Warehouse is done.
• Ensure incoming material from stores (packaging materials, lime, flocculant, Hydrogen Peroxide, Algae Floc, Sodium Hypochlorite, Soda ash & Common salts used during operations adhere to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management system ISO 22000/FSCC – Food Safety Management System.
• Ensure there is adherence to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management system ISO 22000/FSCC – Food Safety Management System for the generated plastic waste from reels & auto inner balers of prepack SKU’s.
• Ensure there is compliance of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management system ISO 22000/FSCC – Food Safety Management System at the warehouse
• Ensure there is proper Pest control all over the Manufacturing & warehouse Premises
• Ensure there is verifications, calibrations and Traceability to comply with QMS standard and regulatory requirements
• Assist with enforcing food safety culture, SHERQ policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
• Compiles Quality & Food safety Feedback reports
• Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.

Job Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year working experience
• Knowledge in Quality and Food Safety requirements
