The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) is a prominent constituent college of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania. Established in 2005, the college was founded to address the critical shortage of graduate teachers following the expansion of primary and secondary education through national development programs. Located in the Chang’ombe area of the Temeke Municipality, the campus is strategically situated near the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, approximately five kilometers from the Dar es Salaam city center. The institution operates through three main faculties: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science. These faculties offer a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to equip students with specialized knowledge in education and specific subject areas. DUCE is particularly recognized for its commitment to “Quality Education for All,” a motto that guides its core functions of teaching, research, and consultancy services. Beyond academic training, the college also manages three demonstration schools Pre-school, Primary, and Secondary—which serve as centers of excellence for practical training and community service.
