The University of Dodoma (UDOM) is a premier public institution located in Tanzania’s capital city. Established in 2007, it was designed to be a “Centre of Excellence” and stands as the largest university in the country by both land area and student capacity. Spanning a massive 6,000-hectare site in the Chimwaga area, the university was built with the ambitious goal of hosting up to 40,000 students at full capacity, symbolizing Tanzania’s commitment to self reliance and national development through higher education. The university operates under a collegiate system, consisting of several semi-autonomous colleges that specialize in distinct academic disciplines. These include the Colleges of Education, Informatics and Virtual Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business and Economics. UDOM is strategically positioned to serve applicants around the country and specifically Government and private sector employees living in Dodoma, who hitherto could not find training opportunities in the area.
