Amana Bank is Tanzania’s first fully fledged Islamic Bank licensed and registered commercial bank that operates under Sharia Compliance (Islamic Finance Jurisprudence). Amana Bank started its operations in November 2011 but it’s beginning can be traced back to October 2009 when a group of prominent Tanzanian business personalities met and set in motion the establishment of an Islamic bank in Tanzania.

Job Title: Relationship Manager – Deposits

Reports to: Head of Business Financing

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring new clients and growing deposit base through active marketing and relationship building.
  • Develop strategies to attract stable and low-cost deposits.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to enhance client value (e.g., accounts, digital channels, investments).
  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing deposit clients to increase loyalty and wallet share.
  • Act as the key contact point for client queries, ensuring prompt and professional service.
  • Conduct regular client visits to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Monitor and track performance of deposit portfolio against set targets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies in all deposit mobilization activities.
  • Prepare periodic reports on client activities, deposit growth, and market insights.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, competitor offerings, and client needs.
  • Recommend innovative deposit products or improvements to existing products.
  • Contribute to strategy formulation for deposit mobilization campaigns.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or related field (MBA is an added advantage).
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in banking, preferably in relationship management, sales, or deposits.
  • Proven track record of deposit mobilization and client acquisition.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products and financial markets.
