The BIST-Bagamoyo African Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 2025 following three years of intensive planning, research, and community engagement. The idea originated in 2022, fueled by the growing demand for skilled professionals in science, technology, business, management and innovation in Tanzania and beyond.
Located in the historic town of Bagamoyo, the institute was strategically positioned to serve as a hub for technological advancement and research. With state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to practical, hands-on training, BIST quickly gained recognition for producing highly skilled graduates ready to contribute to industries such as engineering, information technology, environmental science, and entrepreneurship. Since its establishment, BIST has continued to grow, fostering innovation and equipping students with the expertise needed to compete in a rapidly evolving global economy.
