The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Consumer Consultative Council (EWURA CCC) is a statutory body in Tanzania established under Section 30 of the EWURA Act, Cap 414. Its primary mission is to protect and safeguard the interests of consumers in the regulated sectors of electricity, petroleum, natural gas, and water and sanitation. Acting as a bridge between the public and the regulator, the Council ensures that consumers’ voices are heard during policy formulation and service delivery. One of the Council’s core functions is the representation of consumer interests by making formal submissions and providing views to EWURA, the government, and sector ministers. This includes advocating for fair tariffs, service quality, and universal access, particularly for low-income and rural consumers. To maintain a grassroots connection, the Council establishes and consults with regional, local, and sectoral consumer committees across Mainland Tanzania. By promoting transparency and accountability, the EWURA CCC strives to ensure that utility services remain reliable, safe, and affordable for all Tanzanians. The organisation is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
