PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Successful delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling its statutory obligations, whilst also
providing a breakdown reactive response harmonizing both customer and organizational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One or Level Three in Motor Vehicle Mechanics/Full Technician Certificate in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Must possess valid Tanzanian Driving license.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years working experience in the Underground Equipment e.g. Caterpillar trucks & Loaders, Sandvik trucks & Loaders, Normet, and drill rigs.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Understands safety mechanical & electrical device installed to the machine for keeping equipment health.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver.
- Positive attitude towards safety and environment compliance.
- Should be a good team player.
- Must be physical and mentally fit.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performing preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe working practices and procedures.
- Conduct inspection on equipment’s to identify damages or defect and document on the inspection register and submit to your supervisor for more actions.
- Execute all mining equipment maintenance tasks assigned following approved work procedures.
- Repair equipment and report completion of tasks to Senior Supervisor.
- Always maintain good housekeeping.
- Report to Supervisor any unsafe equipment immediately.
- Ensure work is performed to the OEM’S up standard and ensure quality of work to increase up time after the equipment is released to production.
- Be able to plan work before execution.
- Carry out work as required or directed.
- Meet work delivery deadlines to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the required by Date for work completion.

2. Position: Supervisor – Lubrication (TQM)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Supervisor – Lubrication is responsible for overseeing all lubrication activities within the process plant, ensuring equipment reliability through effective preventive and corrective maintenance. This role provides leadership to the lubrication crew, ensuring safe work execution, compliance with company policies and international standards, and continuous improvement in maintenance practices. By driving safety culture, cost efficiency, and workforce productivity, the Supervisor ensures minimal equipment downtime and contributes to the plant’s operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Trade Test Certificate or equivalent in Maintenance/Lubrication will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in plant lubrication and maintenance within mining or heavy industrial operations.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of lubrication systems, equipment reliability, and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as SAP/ Pronto/Infor or equivalent.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Equipment reliability and failure analysis.
- Strong understanding of plant process equipment (mills, crushers, pumps, conveyors, etc.).
- Computer literacy (MS Office, maintenance software).
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations and risk.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and supervise the lubrication crew to deliver preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across all plant sections.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor daily tasks, ensuring full utilization of workforce and timely completion of jobs to the highest standards.
- Oversee the use of permits-to-work (PTW) and ensure compliance with authorization requirements before job execution.
- Drive operational discipline by ensuring timekeeping, conduct, and behavior are aligned with company policies and values.
- Monitor and ensure that no equipment stoppages or failures occur due to poor lubrication practices or workmanship.
- Conduct routine inspections, PTOs, Take 5 risk assessments, and hazard identifications, escalating findings and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording, reporting, and follow-up of maintenance notifications arising from inspections or task execution.
- Coordinate with the Senior Supervisor – TQM and other departments to ensure alignment of lubrication practices with plant reliability strategies.
- Promote cost control and efficiency by seeking opportunities to reduce waste, optimize use of resources, and extend equipment life.
- Ensure compliance with national and international lubrication and maintenance standards as well as internal company guidelines.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to lubrication team members to build technical
competence and continuous improvement.
