Shanta Gold Mine Limited operations within Tanzania are the cornerstone of the company’s production profile, centered around two key assets: the established New Luika Gold Mine and the newer Singida Gold Mine. The New Luika Gold Mine (NLGM) is Shanta Gold’s flagship asset, located in the Lupa Goldfield of southwestern Tanzania. Having commenced production in 2012, NLGM has been a consistent and reliable contributor to Tanzania’s gold output. The operation employs both open-pit and underground mining methods, feeding a single processing plant. A hallmark of NLGM’s success has been the continuous extension of its mine life through ongoing exploration and the conversion of mineral resources into proven reserves. This operational maturity demonstrates Shanta’s expertise in resource management and efficient extraction in the region. The Singida Gold Mine (SGM) represents the company’s second operational asset in Tanzania, achieving its first gold pour in March 2023. Located in the central part of the country, Singida diversified Shanta’s production base and was a key step in the company reaching its goal of producing over 100,000 ounces of gold annually. SGM is primarily an open-pit operation utilizing a conventional Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) processing plant.
