STAMIGOLD Company Limited – Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. In order to run the mine effectively and efficiently, the Company invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the  existing vacancies as detailed below: –

Work Station: Biharamulo Mine Site

Contract Duration: 14 months, subject to renewal

Work Roster: 6/3

1. JOB TITLE: Surveyor (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collects accurate survey information;
• Designs emergency maps for the mine and measure ventilation throughout the
  mine;
• Takes part in is the creation of maps and plans for the mine;
• Carries out initial surveys and risk assessments and environmental impact
  assessments on potential sites to assess the viability of a potential mine;
• Maintains and utilizes GPS, Laser Scanners and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
  (UAV/drones);
• Assists geologists, engineers and other associated professionals with supply of
  spatial data for structure monitoring, environmental monitoring and rehabilitation
  of ground;
• Interacts and participates with the Mining Contractor, who is responsible for
  conducting site preparation and mining activities, for the Life of Project;
• Provides the survey support to ensure the development of mine plans according to
  design;
• Performs as-constructed surveys of all mine workings and infrastructure;
• Performs set out surveys for construction of all mine workings and infrastructure;
• Performs Up Hole Cameras and Cavity Monitoring system for underground and
  stability monitoring observations to monitor movement of pit walls and subsequent
  data analysis;
• Performs set out and pickup surveys for all geological exploration activities;
• Provides timely and accurate information for ‘End of Period’ reporting;
• Maintains an accurate and adequate Survey Control Network;
• Performs Levelling Traverses;
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holder of Bachelor Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Spatial sciences or related
  field from recognized institution;
• At least three (3) years working experience in related field;
• He/ She must be computer literate.

2. JOB TITLE: Safety Officers (03) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the implementation of the STAMIGOLD Mine Occupational Health
  and Safety Management System.
• Assisting the implementation of ISO 45001:2018 standard at STAMIGOLD MINE.
• Assisting the OHS and RESCUE Coordinator to ensure all STAMIGOLD MINE activities comply with the requirements of the Company Safety and Health Standards and any applicable legislative requirements.
• Providing visible and high-level Safety support to all STAMIGOLD Departments and Business Partners/Contractors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of STAMIGOLD MINE operations and associated infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining the Core safety elements of STAMIGOLD MINE and Health Management System.
• Ensure all site safety equipment are being maintained and monitored via a comprehensive system which is transparent and can be audited at any time, e.g., pre-start checks, maintenance scheduling, and documented fault reporting and rectification.
• Actively facilitate the Baseline/Formal Risk Assessment, JHA, FLRA processes and promote a risk management culture at STAMIGOLD MINE.
• Ensure regular safety inspections are conducted within all areas of the mine site, including facilities manned by contractors.
• Assist in accident/incident investigations with the relevant supervisors.
• Facilitate accident/incident investigations as required by using company-
  approved incident investigation methodologies.
• Developing safety training packages.
• Facilitate Safety training to the STAMIGOLD MINE workforce and contractors.
• Provide daily feedback report of the activities carried out to the Safety Supervisor.
• Prepare safety statistics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and report trends.
• Prepare a monthly report of activities and statistics conducted during the period in an accurate and timely manner for inclusion in the site-wide monthly report.
• Conduct regular safety observations to determine the level of safety standards compliance, PPE compliance and requirements, and provide safety coaching.
• Liaise with other sections within the Department to ensure integrated operation of the department and to achieve stated objectives.
• Attend relevant departmental safety-related meetings as agreed/assigned by the OHS leadership.
• Ensure timely follow-up of incidents and other safety-related corrective actions close out.
• Regularly liaise with other Departmental heads and their staff as required.
• Actively participate in the review of safe working procedures.
• Maintain a pro-active approach to all aspects of operational safety and encourage teamwork within the department.
• Encourage a teamwork approach to problem solving within the Department by practicing clear, concise communication.
• Liaise with visitors where technical expertise is required and requested.
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by your Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Form four level of education with training on the relevant discipline. NOSCH/NEBOSH/NOSA
• Higher qualifications in discipline of either Public Health, Occupational Nursing, Occupational Medicine, Ergonomics/biotechnology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field obtained from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage
• Valid Driving license will be an added advantage
• Experience in Mining Industry will be an added advantage

3. JOB TITLE: Security Officers (05) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prevents and detects of crimes;
• Reports of intruders into restricted areas;
• Secures of found properties;
• Ensures that only authorized personnel gain access to restricted areas;
• Serves as the in-charge of a squad of Security Guards once instructed to do so;
• Makes or conducts patrol and/or guard of access points;
• Detects and prevents unauthorized persons, vehicles or animals from entering premises and/or protected areas;
• Reports pertinent matters that may affect the security of the site;
• Protects of Company’s property against theft and destruction;
• Controls and prevents occurrence of unhealthy/insecurity crowds;
• Collects information, and reports on matters of security;
• Performs any other duties as might be assigned by the immediate superior.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holder of Secondary Education Certificate and any formal security training with at least two (2) years working experience in Military or security guard;
• Defensive Driving Skills with a valid driving license
• Must have a National ID Card
• Age must not above 35years.
• He/ She must not be involved in any criminal cases or judged by Tanzania Law.
• He/ She must be with good Police Clearance record.
• He/ She must be Physical fit and able to handle physical demand of the job, including long periods of standing, walking and potentially restraining individuals.

4. JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in the formulation of revenue accounting policies; regulations and procedures;
• Reviews weekly cash and debt position;
• Prepares final accounts;
• Prepares and submits revenue reports to the superiors;
• Revises and prepares accounting manuals and standards;
• Prepares accounting and other financial reports;
• Reviews and submits the statutory returns;
• Ensures compliance to accounting standards and regulations;
• Monitors and controls company plan and budget;
• Plans and monitors the unit’s activities;
• Checks and controls accounting operations;
• Participates in the preparation of annual budget;
• Gives inputs to formulation of revenue accounting policies; regulation and procedures;
• Liaises with external auditors’ directives;
• Reviews weekly cash and debt position i.e. revenue and expenditures;
• Checks and controls accounting operations;
• Monitors and controls company plan and budget;
• Supervises processing of accounting transactions and book transactions;
• Replies to audit queries;
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holder of Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field with CPA(T) or equivalent qualification
• At least five (5) years working experience.
• Must be computer literate.
