STAMIGOLD Company Limited – Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. In order to run the mine effectively and efficiently, the Company invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the existing vacancies as detailed below: –
1. JOB TITLE: Senior Geologist (01) Post
Work Station: Biharamulo Mine Site
Work Roster: 6/3
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing work plans for undertaking mine grade control and sampling and monitoring them;
- Assisting geologists and monitoring ore delineation and ore blocking for minimizing ore loss and dilution; also in the performance of their duties through constant communication and mentoring;
- Ensuring that ore reserve and resource estimates are maintained to a high level of accuracy, as defined;
- Implementing quality control practices and procedures, to ensure that resource recovery objectives are met, as the project development proceeds to scheduled production;
- Implementing the necessary programs and reporting functions that will facilitate timely reporting of costs and commitment forecasts;
- Monitoring performance of drilling and other geology works contractors;
- Interacting and participating with the Mining Department, for conduct of site preparations and
mining activities, for the Life of Project; - Interacting and participating with the Mining and Process Plant Departments to ensure sustained development of the Project;
- Promoting and implementing the appropriate Policies and Procedures that are based on the
submissions and commitments to the Tanzanian governing agencies and the best management practices that are part of our Stamigold Operating System; - Developing and promoting a Succession Plan that will define appropriate localization initiatives and ensuring these commitments are met;
- Assisting the Chief Mine Geologist to achieve optimal delivery of ore to the mill through a good understanding of pit mineralization, efficient grade control processes and the minimization of dilution during mining;
- Fulfilling the role of Chief Geologist during his / her absence from site;
- Performing other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
- Holder of BSc Geology or related field from recognized institution;
- At least Five (5) years’ experience as a Geologist, working in an exploration, mining operations
and gold processing environment. - A working knowledge of appropriate software programs that will facilitate the reporting and control aspects of the project. These include Mine and Geology Software Packages, Word, Excel, and Access or other database software package.
2. JOB TITLE: Graduate Geologist (01) Post
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising and participating in the drilling, sampling and excavation of the ore body and related data acquisition;
- Assisting in the assessment and development of satellite deposits
- Undertaking and compiling the geotechnical and geological mapping of the pit and areas of interest as directed
- Interacting and participating with the Mine and Process Departments, to ensure sustained
development and reconciliation of ore body - Liaising with the Production Geologist and Senior Production Geologist regarding Grade
Control planning and interpretations; - Assisting in the compilation and preparation of Geology reports;
- Performing any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
- Holder of BSc Geology or related field from recognized institution;
- Intermediate skills in MS Office software package and or Mine Software Packages.
