The Kinyerezi I Extension power plant marks a further milestone in Tanzania’s efforts to reduce dependence on costly diesel-powered plants. CSI Energy Group involvement includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a 185 MW Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) power plant extension to existing 50 MW power plant and a 220 KV Switch yard, at Kinyerezi 1 Extension Power Station including the upgrade of transmission line from Kinyerezi 1 to Gongo la Mboto and from Gongo la Mboto to Mbagala in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Location: Kinyerezi 1 Extension Project
Key responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Perform daily quality inspections
- Prepare safety permits for quality-related jobs
- Support the Construction, Commissioning, and Operational Maintenance teams
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment
2. Planning
- Prepare next-day inspection plan
- Execute strategies aligning planning functions to business objectives and achieving key results
3. People and Relationship Management
- Work with Engineers, Supervisors, Electricians, and Technicians to achieve targets
- Train, coach, and manage the performance of subordinates effectively and continuously
- Instil a “One Family” culture and act as an ambassador for the business vision, mission, and values
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily reports, observations, and non-conformance reports as necessary
- Prepare inspection reports
5. Budget Management
- Support project management with cost control
6. HSEQ
- Take responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards
7. Compliance
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures
- Follow all relevant laws and regulations
8. Additional Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor and Manager
Qualifications
Education/Qualification:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience:
- Previous construction experience within the oil and gas and power industry
- Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives
- Exposure to hazardous area installations
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a comparable role
IT Skills:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package.
- Hazardous area installation and inspection experience is an advantage.
Language:
- English, Swahili
Key Competencies and Skills
- Working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work
- Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice, and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work
- Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure
- Goal oriented
