As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomati relations between Switzerland and Tanzania. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture. The Embassy of Switzerland also implements an important cooperation program in Tanzania and is working in partnership with governmental institutions, NGOs, as well as with other national and international agencies.
JOB TITLE: Receptionist
We are currently looking for an entry-level temporary Receptionist who is a pro-active, efficient and independent person of Tanzanian nationality in order to cover the position from 17th November 2025 to 30th April 2026.
Job Description / Responsibility
Organization and Logistics
Reception and Travel Management
- Overall management of the reception and switch board
- Meeting rooms management (reservations, preparation etc.)
- Maintaining cleanness of the reception, waiting area and meeting rooms
- Maintaining the switch board and IVR recorder (answering machine)
- Coordinate staff field visits by organizing accommodation, travel by car and air ticket
- Coordinate missions for incoming visitors, head office staff etc.
Requirements:
Education
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies and Administration / Diploma in Business Administration / Bachelor in related field and / or similar level of education.
Experience / Skills
- Very good command of written and spoken English and Kiswahili
- Very good communication- and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as a team member
- Able to meet deadlines while remaining organized and accurate
- Excellent IT skills, able to work with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working experience in the related field is an added advantage
