National Bank of Commerce (NBC Bank) Limited is one of Tanzania’s oldest and most prominent commercial banks, with its roots tracing back to the nationalization of financial institutions in 1967. For instance, in 2021, its profit before tax increased to a record Sh60 billion, a substantial improvement from the previous year. In 2025, the bank demonstrated robust financial health, with net income after tax reaching TZS 73.7 billion in the first half of the year, driven by increases in both interest and non-funded income.
