WAJIBU – Institute of Public Accountability is a think tank organization that promotes public transparency, accountability, and good governance in the area of public financial management which was registered in January 2015 in Tanzania Mainland and in January l 2024 in Tanzania Zanzibar. From its establishment, WAJIBU has implemented various initiative aiming at information generation, information dissemination, training, consultancies and government engagements to advocate for improvement in public financial management in the country. works to empower citizens and their representatives to demand proper accountability and good governance on the collection and use of public resources. It mobilises public engagement with duty bearers and the elected representatives (Members of Parliament, Councilors and Street/Village Chairpersons) on issues of public financial accountability and good governance. Our mission is to apply the analytical tools of Public Social Accountability Monitoring (PSAM) and Public Expenditure Tracking (PETs) in ensuring that there is proper public resource management and good governance in the country.
