Tanzania Revenue Workers Union (TAREWU) is an independent trade union registered in 2019 by the Office of the Registrar of Independent Trade Unions and Employers in accordance with the Employment and Labor Relations Act. The Union carries out its duties in accordance with the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1977 [as amended from time to time], the Employment and Labour Relations Act, 2004 and its Regulations, the Labor Institutions Act, 2004 and its Regulations, the Public Service Act, 2002 and its Regulations, the Public Service (Negotiating Machinery) Act, 2003, the Union’s Constitution, the Union’s Regulations, Union’s policies as well as valid Union’s guidelines. TAREWU primary vision is to become the best Workers’ Union for strengthening unity, managing and defending workers’ rights and interests in the workplace. The core mission of TAREWU is enhancing a productive and effective workplace environment by promoting involvement, preventing discrimination and establishing good working relationships between employer and employees.
