Kilimanjaro Inland Container Depot (KICD) is a newly opening soon-modern inland terminal located less than 3km away from Dar es Salaam Port. Will be serving as a hub for storing, handling, and clearing import/export Containers. KICD is committed to attracting and developing excellent core of well-motivated and innovative staff to demonstrate modern ICD in the Industry. KICD is designed to facilitate the rapid movement of cargo by providing on site Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) verification and customs clearing services. The facility typically includes specialized equipment for container stacking and stripping, as well as secure warehousing for Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments. The opening of modern facilities like KICD aligns with broader national efforts to improve port efficiency. Recent infrastructure upgrades, including berth expansions and the development of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), have already helped reduce container dwelling times at Dar es Salaam Port from 7 days down to 3 days. KICD acts as a terminal for storing, handling, and clearing import and export containers.
