The Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation (BMF) is a non-profit trust established in Tanzania in 2006, dedicated to improving health outcomes across the country and the rest of Africa. Founded by the late former President of Tanzania, H.E. Benjamin William Mkapa, the organization’s vision is centered on achieving healthy lives and well-being for all, with a strategic mission to provide innovative health and related system solutions, particularly in underserved areas. BMF began with the launch of its first initiative, the “Mkapa Fellows Programme,” in 2005, primarily focusing on addressing the critical challenge of human resources for health (HRH). Since then, the Foundation has significantly expanded its scope to include a range of vital health initiatives, such as combating HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria, and improving Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH). The Foundation works to supplement and complement the Tanzanian government’s development efforts by strengthening primary healthcare through the decentralization of services to regions, districts, and communities. The Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for these positions. BMF is committed to the principles of safeguarding in the workplace and will not tolerate any form of abuse, wherever it occurs or whoever is responsible.
