Plan International Tanzania is a prominent humanitarian and development organization. It has operated in the country since 1991 to advance children’s rights and equality for girls. Its geographic footprint spans multiple regions, focusing heavily on rural and underserved areas where children face the greatest vulnerabilities. Plan International Tanzania actively combats harmful traditional practices, such as child marriage and female genital mutilation, which restrict girls’ potential. Through targeted advocacy and community sensitization, they promote gender equality and sexual and reproductive health rights. Additionally, the organization implements robust protection mechanisms to safeguard children from violence, abuse, and exploitation in both schools and communities. PAMOJA aims to strengthen women’s economic empowerment, support women-led community Microfinance groups, and improve Gender-Based Violence prevention and response services across Tanzania.
